We love celebrating birthdays at work, but we've known each other for several years now and once in a while come up with the perfect theme.... one winner was for my creative girl, Shirley's birthday. Since I took her to LACMA last year and there happened to be a Tim Burton exhibit (who she loves!) we figured we'd go with that theme and her birthday is on Halloween so that also goes along with that time of year. Tim Burton gifts (was so hard to remember which action figures she did not have! and Jess' home made voodoo pin cushion was a hit! and she loved the beautiful exhibit book!). There was Tim Burton inspired food (I made a Tim Burton-esque cake) and even Tim Burton decor. Rebecca spray painted some Buckthorn from her yard and tied printed out characters to it like ornaments. Since Shirley's birthday is on Halloween, she found Halloween PEEPs along with green gum drops on a tin foil covered base. Shirley even brought out her crocheted Toxic Boy in the next day to join the party! It was so fun to find other Tim Burton parties online, I even created a Pinboard on the topic!
