5/27/2012 1 Comment Forest Room 5 / Denver, COCreative little tapas joint in Denver that I just love!... like being inside a creepy forest wonderland. Menu with wood carved cover, napkins with bug stickers securing the silverware inside. Wood tables, stump chairs, wild scenes projected on the wall. Creepy cool vibe. Leaky ceiling attended to by placing a glass under the drips...

In 1997 I graduated from UW-Stout, in the tiny town of Menomonie, WI. Growing up in Milwaukee I was intrigued by small towns and really enjoyed my time up north. Over a decade later I find myself often returning to my old small town for viisits since my Uncle married someone from Menomonie! What are the odds? I don't know but it works for me!... My Aunt Carmen is a wonderfully creative bead artist that opened her store in 2005, starting out in the front of her mother's flower shop (yep, Flowers on Main where I ordered several fashion show flower arrangements long before knowing my future Aunt!). Now she's in the most perfect space. Very quaint, with selection you'd find in a much larger city. She offers several classes, and is a great teacher. I'm not the most patient student but she's taugh me several stich techniques. She's up on the latest jewelry trends and does great work for weddings and special occasions. If you're in the area, check it out! Besides flowers and beads, she sells her beautiful finished jewelry. |
